Does Rose Gold Tarnish?

The Rose Gold color is actually plating affixed to the tungsten with a process called "IP plating." Tungsten is silver in color, so the only way to achieve the Gold or Rose color is to use plating. 18 karat gold is what is used in all our jewelry which is a harder substance hence preventing surface scratches as seen in other pure gold jewelry.

The good news? Rose gold doesn't tarnish. It can, however, begin to appear darker and slightly redder after years of wear.

This isn't because of tarnish, though. It's the copper part of the rose gold becoming slightly darker and more vintage looking. This can take many years of wear to happen, so there's nothing to really worry about.

ROSE GOLD

The Rose Gold with our Tungsten is IP Plated. What is IP plating? Ion Plating (IP) is a process where the surface of the ring required to be plated is bombarded by atomic-sized energetic particles. It is known as one of the most advanced surface finishing processes in the trade. IP plating makes the ring more durable comparing to coloring.
